Collins View Neighborhood Parks

Riverview Natural Area

River View Natural Area is a 146-acre forested parcel nestled in southwest Portland. It’s an excellent place for a quiet hike, birding, and wildlife and plant viewing. The network of trails are numbered for easy navigation and interconnect on a heavily wooded slope. Don’t be fooled by the name, though. There is no river view from anywhere inside the natural area, which acquired its name from the cemetery just to the north, the previous stakeholder of the land.

Tryon Creek Park

While Tryon Creek State Park technically borders Collins View, the neighborhood wraps around a portion of the park’s north end. This lush forest is an oasis in the city, offering residents easy access to hiking and horse trails, bicycle paths, wildlife viewing, and more.

Marshall Park

Once a quarry site, Marshall Park was restored by Frederick and Addie Marshall as a natural area and donated to the City of Portland in 1951. Trails in the park range from easy to adventurous, all that weave throughout a forested canyon with small creeks that rise and recede, depending on the time of year.
